Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, delivers video message at the ASEAN Multi-Stakeholder Forum on Sustainability

Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, delivered remarks via video message at the ASEAN Multi-Stakeholder Forum on Sustainability: “Transformative, equitable, innovative and coordinated actions for the 2030 Agenda and its SDGs for a sustainable future for all,” held in Bangkok, Thailand, on 21-22 August 2025.

The ASEAN Multi-Stakeholder Forum on Sustainability brought together two key ASEAN-led platforms on sustainability dialogue: (1) 2025 ASEAN Forum on SDGs with National Development Planning Agencies, and (2) 9th High-Level Brainstorming Dialogue on Enhancing Complementarities between the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Through dialogue and the exchange of best practices, the Forum served as a platform to accelerate SDGs implementation in the region, fostering sustainable development cooperation within ASEAN and with external partners, and facilitating discussions among ASEAN Member States on the development of Complementarities Initiative 2.0, and building a shared vision of a resilient, innovative, dynamic, and people-centered ASEAN, in line with the ASEAN Community Vision 2045.
