Secretary-General of ASEAN participates in the ASEAN Strategic Policy Dialogue on Disaster Management 2025 in Singapore

Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today participated in the ASEAN Strategic Policy Dialogue on Disaster Management (SPDDM) 2025, held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, in Singapore. Dr. Kao delivered remarks at the Opening Session, along with Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs of Singapore Edwin Tong, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Committee for Disaster Management of Cambodia and Representative of the Chair of ASEAN Committee on Disaster Management (ACDM) Ma Norith, as well as with Ambassador of the European Union to ASEAN Sujiro Seam. Dr. Kao also delivered a keynote address at the SPDDM 2025 on the “Post-2025 Vision for ASEAN’s Resilience: A Perspective,” where he underscored the importance of harnessing innovation and advanced technologies across the disaster management cycle, and also highlighted that partnership and inclusivity must underpin all disaster management efforts.
