Sources compiled from the IMF and multiple national bodies show Vietnam is likely to register the strongest 2020 GDP growth of any nation in Asia.

The report was broadcast by CNBC on the 27th January, and shows Vietnam (2.9% growth) ranking above Taiwan and China respectively.

The results are due in part to the countries swift and effective response to the Covid pandemic and sporadic outbreaks throughout 2020. Additionally, strong year on year manufacturing and export output, especially during the final quarter of the year.

Vietnam is set to benefit further in 2021, as a growing number of transnational companies seek to dilute their manufacturing exposure in Mainland China in search of greater political stability and more favorable conditions.
